About this adventure
Over a half-day on this perfect mountain trail, we'll wind our way along the backcountry that parallels the bubbling Beaver Creek. Our first stop will be at the historic Pat Hollow Plane Crash site, a memorial for a Korean War military unit that was lost in the 1950s. From there, we'll continue through Danish Pass and into the grandiose Franklin Basin. We'll stop for a picnic at Gibson Lakes – two beautiful high altitude alpine lakes full of salamanders. For our last stop, we'll visit the Pony Express tree, a hollowed-out stashing location for mail in the 1800s, on our way back to the lodge.
